Scarecrows Steal Soft Sandwiches

New Works by Catherine de Montreuil

In conversation with visual selections by Lyndsay Pomerantz

A game of visual telephone activates the misconceptions inherent within interpretation.

De Montreuil enters into this program as a recipient, hinging upon error and misunderstanding through the parameters of quotidian materials and found objects.

A cache of film stills and pop-cultural momentos provide the roster for this instance of material and symbolic reinterpretation.

Familiar forms are revamped in a tangible place, creating a tableau that recounts the circumstances of one-ended image sharing. Displayer and displayed are muddled, while anthropomorphic structures host the event.

Objects and images have been selected by Pomerantz via long distance, while the artist interprets them in an installation of images and sculptural objects.
